ROCCAMORA presents a singular olfactory register woven with notes of spices, tobacco and leather in a well-marked fruit finish. During the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, various methods of producing and blending Ron spread throughout the Antilles.
In Cuba, thanks to the help of European and local technical innovations, a product with such a refined aroma and taste was developed that it took the name of Ron ligero, in opposition to the heavier distillates from other Caribbean origins. This method of distillation, aging and blending developed in Cuba, and in particular in Santiago de Cuba, continues to represent the highest expression of the manufacturing technique of Ron ligero. Ron Santiago de Cuba is produced, aged and bottled exclusively in the city of Santiago de Cuba, in the first and oldest Cuban rum factory, dating back to 1862.
The aging is 100% natural, and is carried out in selected and very old white oak barrels – some have been in use for more than 70 years. The heat and humidity of the tropics naturally accelerate the evaporation of the alcohol and its fusion with the woody substances. The entire production process is scrupulously controlled by the master rum makers, who supervise the manufacture of the aguardientes and their blending, and who in Santiago de Cuba are authentic celebrities who pass on the art of formulating the rum in its various assortments.
